Marina from Music
for Health comes to Maples Care Home every fortnight, and it’s an activity that
all our residents look forward to. It’s immediately obvious that residents feel
at ease with Marina, and as she goes around the room calling out the names of
everyone, it’s like another member of the family has joined us for the morning.

With a range of
different music styles throughout the workshop, our residents have the opportunity
to get involved at their own speed. Whether that is waving a pom pom, shaking an
instrument or just swaying along to a favourite song. Certain songs also strike
a chord with some, and on hearing just the first line of the song, they were up
on their feet, dancing away with Marina.

About Music for Health

Music for Health workshops are the result of over 15 years research into
how sound and frequency can benefit health.
For many years their workshops have been helping a huge number of residents
throughout the country, to find renewed strength and happiness.

The workshops are designed to be holistic.  Everyone benefits, regardless of their ability or care needs.  They are fun, stimulating and extremely varied – providing something for everyone.  The music is changed from workshop to workshop, keeping the attraction fresh.  Everyone is encouraged to participate from the start – whilst allowing them to progress at their own speed.
